  2. If there are electricians looking for work in Florida send me a message I might be able to assist.
  3. They only asked for the name of employer which we didn't have. We will take the letter of employment when he gets it on Monday.
  4. Hi All, Well today we got our first car. We bought a Chevy Captiva and it has been an amazing experience. It's pre owned with 27000 miles on the clock. We still have the balance of the factory warranty left. We even got finance through Chase. I can honestly recommend this route. We dealt with a lade called Lauren at Enterprise Car Sales. The finance is at 7% which I thought was quite reasonable considering we have only been here 3 weeks and my husband hasn't even started his job yet. We put $1000 down and financed the balance over 60 momths. Our repayments including an extended warranty for another 60000 miles are $260 / month. Laurens email address is Lauren.Schulof[at]erac.com.
  5. Has anyone on this forum left SA on one way tickets? We want to book one way tickets on Emirates as they only charge for that leg. At the moment we can fly DBN Tampa for R8100. My question is if immigration will stop you because of this? We can't emigrate officially as we are still keeping our bank accounts etc for the kids staying behind for a few months.
  6. Just called the US embassy. You have a year to relocate once the Greencard is activated. Phew
  7. ok I'm now stressing. We activated our Greencards on the 2nd of Dec 2013. We won't be ready to emigrate until end June I think. It's more than 6 months. Is this going to be a problem then?
  8. Hi, Fantastic and congrats! we know that feeling. Good luck with the process
  9. Hi Vladek. She is much better. She really appreciates your support. Have told her about the message. She still needs to get the baby's passport sorted. Does anyone know how long that takes?
  10. Hi Vladek, I see Loren isn't responding. Her baby has been very sick with bronchitis. She is with her parents on the south coast. Hasn't been for the medical. Only going on the 24th May. I'm sure she will post soon.
  11. Funny thing about the police clearance is that according to the guys I spoke to at the embassy, the police clearances are valid for a year. My police clearance was a year and 1 day old on the day of the interview. Maybe I was just lucky.
  12. Hi Vladek, I don't want to be negative but we took Old Mutual statements showing investments of over R1 000 000 and the interviewer still wanted more proof of funds. I think they base is on the number of family members.
  13. Found tis re matric. The U.S. Department of Labor’s O*Net OnLine database will be used to determine qualifying work experience. For more information about qualifying work experience for the principal DV applicant, see Frequently Asked Question #13.
