Thank you Malamute,

We are supposed to learn from our mistakes, so if this turns out bad I will never listen to you again Posted Image .

Seriously, I am also doing this for my children. Having PR (and eventually Citizenship) will give them additional options in life that nobody can ever take away from them.

I am struggling to stay calm about the whole GC thing - I realise that it is all pie-in-the-sky without the intervier letter. It is already 4 August - I wonder how long before the interview should I receive it?

Ha! Don't listen to me........I STILL think I am crazy some days :P

You should receive your letter about 6 weeks before - so anytime now. If you don't get it in the next week/10 days, call and find out the interview date. If you have your clearances, birth certificates etc for everyone already, other than the medicals, there is not much else to get ready.

I have all the documents from SA (I hope) but I still have to get an Australian Police clearance for myself and my son. The things is, the first notification letter I received specifically said i must not apply for it untill they tell me to & I am worried that I wont have enough time to apply & receive it (before 30/9). Also, I need to book flights for my daughter from SA to attend the interview.

I am probably just causing a storm in a teacup.... patience is what I need more of right now.

if your interview is 30/9 then if I were you, I will apply for the Australian police clearance certificate. Have you contacted the AU police. How long do they take to issue the clearance certificate and for how long is the certificate valid for.
