Hi there

Stumbled onto the Forum by accident, and have found it to be incredibly helpful and informative, wish I'd found it sooner. We've been given our interview date 01 February 2010, very nervous & excited. Most of our docs are in order, waiting for the interview letter still. Dropped the ball when it came to the unabridged marriage cert though and its still being processed by our ever efficient Dept of Home Affairs. Does anyone know anyone who can help me speed up the process?

Hi, there

Harrassment????? I phoned constantly (daily / 2 or 3 times every day!) We applied at the Germiston offices and were told the best time to go there is at 15:30 as they close at 15:45!! To the front of the queue every time!!! Pleading does not help, but if you dish out compliments it seems to be a different ball game. They accepted our original marriage certificate, but rather play it safe. We only applied for ours after the interview. We still had the original, but they prefer the computer printed one.

Good luck!!

Thank you, I'll start on them first thing monday! I also have my original but I'd rather have all my docs they way they want them. All thats left is to have medicals and pass the interview.
