Yep... for a cabin. We are not quite geared up for camping - would love to be though!
It sounds like it is fairly unlikely that you will be able to get a cabin. If you don't mind staying outside the campground, you may want to look at one of the hotels close by. Another option would be to get a RV stand and rent a RV for the weekend.
Here are some of the hotels: Weston Inn & Suites (1 mile from the grounds) : 1(903) 683-8383 (discount rate for mentioning SA Festival !!); Southern Motor Inn (2 miles) : 1(903) 683-2688 (10% discount for mentioning SA Festival !!); New Holiday Inn, Jacksonville (11 miles from grounds - not sure about their number).

Texas Potjie Festival
Every Labor Day weekend there is a big stirring amongst South Africans in Texas… well… to be honest, it’s much wider than Texas… it’s all over the United States, and in some cases even around the world! Why?
It’s the annual Texas Potjie Festival!
Preparations for this annual “potjiekos” festival begins weeks in advance. Some people make biltong, droëwors, boerewors, bake rusks, and many other things in the weeks leading up to it.
People start arriving at the campground on the Friday. Some stay in cabins, others in RVs, and the rest in tents. Then the braai fires are lit and the party is on!
Most people “kuier” (visit) around the braai until the early morning hours on Saturday, catching up on news with all the friends they made at the previous Potjie. Saturday is the boerewors competition, and Saturday evening is the big “sokkie”.
Sunday is the day all the potjiekos competitors have been waiting for! The food preparation starts after church and by the afternoon the whole campground is filled with the wonderful aroma of the various potjies, carefully nursed by their expert creators.
After the judging is over, everyone shares in all the potjies to get real taste of all the hard work of the afternoon.
Don’t miss out on the annual Texas Potjie Festival. It is a blast that you won’t forget anytime soon!

This Potjie festival looks terrific...
Will make plans for attending in 2011. How long in advance do you have to book a cabin ? This year we are going to Vegas.
Cabins are normally fully booked on the weekend of the event for the following year, these are hot as there's not many cabins about 10 and there's over 600 people attending. If you are not into tenting then a RV or hotel is your best choice. Good luck.
