West Works has a client who requires some Mine management experience for their Fort McMurray oil sands development site.

These positions will be of interest to potential immigrants because our client is willing to sponsor the right candidate for these permanent positions if they are not from Canada.

The three positions are:

RR220 - Mine Maintenance Manager

RR221 - Strategic Mine Planning Manager

RR222 - Commissioning and Start-Up Superintendent

All three positions are described in detail on our website Job Board.

If you believe you might be a fit for one of these positions, or any other on our job board, we would love to hear from you. A word of caution on these three positions. You are competing globally for these positions. Our client has asked us to turn over every rock we have in every country we have a presence in order to find them the best candidiates. For that reason, please ensure that your CV is directed towards the position of interest, is detailed in your experience, and most importantly that you meet each of the "Must Have" skill requirements and as many of the "Nice to Have" as possible.

This is an opportunity for an experienced mining applicant to step forward and shine, so if you or anybody you know is interested in Canada and qualifies for one of these positions, please contact me directly at dave[at]wesworks.ca.

Best of luck to all applicants. If you submit your CV and are not successful for one of these positions, we will continue to consider you for other future positions.

Hi Dave,

I visited your site at Westworks and took a look at the postings. I am not an engineer, but have worked extensively as a communications executive in engineering-heavy fields, developing and executing communications plans to significantly improve the bottom line. Earlier in my career, I was the spokesman for the Structural Steel Industry in South Africa and most recently I've worked in similar fashion in industry development initiatives in North Carolina. In the past four years, I helped set up a major program to create a biofuels industry sector in North Carolina. I have a successful track record; in the biotech sector, more than a billion dollars in new revenue, and this year at the Biofuels Center, one campaign reached 82% of the state's drivers. I grew up in mining towns in South Africa; my dad was mine manager at Buffelsfontein Gold Mine and I worked underground during my university vacations for cash, so I have a first-hand knowledge of the mining industry. I am a South African national, but have a permanent Green Card to work in the U.S. and my wife is an American citizen. My profile on LinkedIn is at: http://www.linkedin.com/in/normanasmit

Let me know if engineering or mining communications positions are likely to be handled by Westworks and if my professional background would be a good match for the kinds of placements you make?

All the best,

Norman Smit
